So you've seen the "Chat Activity" box on the right side of the site, right?
Don't lie, everyone who's been to this site knows that it's there (except for maybe RuiRui).
To help people out with joining and/or acclimating to the chat, this post will briefly introduce the chat, its general guidelines, and the /commands that can be used.
Caution: The conversations exchanged in the chatroom are generally not moderated. Please take note that vicarious detail and explicit content may occur.

What is NanoFate chat?
NanoFate chat is the chatroom used by members of the website.
How do I join the chat?
You MUST be a member in order to chat in the room.

When I join the chat, it doesn't seem to work properly. :(
Unfortunately, Internet Explorer does not support the chat. The browsers Google Chrome and Firefox can run the chat without problems.
What do we talk about in the chat?
The chat does not necessarily talk about MSLN or NanoFate; instead, we talk about whatever we feel like. This includes anime, manga, music, relationships, or even the occasional game of Truth or Dare.
Who can I expect to meet in NanoFate chat?
There are a wide variety of people from all over the world (and I mean that literally).
Is there anyone to look out for in particular?
The administrators for the chat are represented by golden badges next to their names in the user list.
Is the chat always active?
The number of people may vary at times - we all have our own lives to live - so no, the chat won't always be active. However, that doesn't mean that you can't stop by and see what's what.
What if I can't speak English very well?
Not a problem at all! Quite a few of our members don't speak English fluently, but they still have fun with us anyway!
Commands:
The commands will be listed, with a brief explanation of what they do following. Many commands are not available to non-admins. I will only explain commands usable to regular users that are not redundant. They are used by adding a / in front. Example: /me would use the /me command.

banlist - Opens up the list of banned people.
clear - Clears the chatlog completely, removing all previous messages.
help - Opens a list of commands, there are many more than I have put in this explanation.
init - Leaves the chat immediately.
join - Joins the chatroom. Should happen automatically when opening the program.
leave - Leaves the chat immediately.
me - Italicizes your message, as if you are carrying out an action instead of talking.
nick - Changes your nickname to whatever you want that is not already taken.
privmsg - Sends a private message to the target. Can be done manually by clicking on their name in the User List and selecting Private Message.
quit - Leaves the chat immediately.
version - Tells you the version of the chat program.
Other Things to Know:
Colors can be changed by use of Color commands in lieu of using the color bar. An example of the color prompt is as follows: [ color=#CC9900 ] [ /color ] without the spaces
Closing the chat program is not the same as logging out of the chat itself. There is a ~15 second delay from leaving the chat to the chat actually saying that you have left the chat. You can bypass this wait time by using /init, /leave or /quit.
Please be polite and avoid inciting unnecessary drama. You want to use the chat to make friends, not to soapbox or to isolate others/yourself.
But most importantly, try to have fun! These are real people you're chatting with! Make friends, share stories, tell jokes, all that chizz!
