Yagami Hayate and... Yagami Light?

Sansker's picture

I know what you are thinking: “WTF?!” but I’m being death serious here. As a fan of both Maho Shojo Lyrical Nanoha and Death Note I always wonder the possibility of these two characters being related. Of course the most common assumption is that they happen to have identical lasts names but aside that are two complete different characters and they will never share anything else. Well… I disagree with that. Actually I believe that, somehow, Hayate is a relative of Light and they give us clues about it all the time. So I will point out the similitude between them and you are welcome to put your own.

1 – Their last names. This is so obvious it have to be a lie. They are both Yagami and, don’t you think is a little suspicious that Hayate’s parents are dead? Consider how many people die thanks to the Death Note I have to say there is a little possibility here. Also the fact that Sochiro Yagami, Light’s father, spends so much time out open the possibility of an adventure.

2 – Their hair.
They both happen to have similar hair color and hair style. That, in much anime, make it to be either clones or siblings so… well you see my point.

3 – The books. Both of them get powerful weapons that happen to look like two innocents books… ok a note and a book but they both have covers and pages that can be used with lethal proposes.

4 – Their servants. Ignoring the fact that Hayate considers the Wolkenritter as part of her family; both she and Light have under their command some non-human creatures. Hayate the gardians ans Light his Shinigami.

5 – Their uniforms. If you see Light’s high school uniform looks like Hayate’s, just hers is a little lighter in color.

Also both of them get chosen by the laws of destiny and casualty to wheel their power and both of them use it to create a better world. What did you think?

Magic Style: Mid-Childa and Magecraft
Magic Color: White
Element: Light
Usual Wear: TSAB uniform
Specialization: Front Attacker, -Mid Range Shooting and Barrage Magic

Personality: Sincere and Cautious those two words sum him up pretty much. Sadly for all his smarts he can be a little naïve when it comes to people. Yet, he tries his best at everything he attempts to do…sometime it takes a while for he always overthinks what he is doing. He used to like helping people out, but do to an incident he is more weary to other now.

Devices:

Atalanta (Intelligent Device): A modified longbow used any type of projectile. Standby mode: A silver necklace in a shape of a bow. Address Eiros as Comrade.

Murakumo (Stored Device): A Falchion sword that is four feet long and has a “cup” that guards Eiros’s right hand in combat. Standby mode: A blue card with a cloud pictured on it. Address Eiros as my Lord.

Pyrus (Stored Device): A Katara, which has a small rectangle shield on the left. It is used to block enemies’ strikes during combat. Standby mode: An orange card with a fire pictured on it. Address Eiros as my King.

Barrier Jacket:

His jacket is like the knight’s but instead of a white coat, Eiros has a grey one and his armor is light blue.

Fighting Style:
Eiros role in combat is a Front Attacker; he excels at this role due to his duo arsenals of sword and Katara. Eiros actually likes to engage a foe from mid-range with Atalanta. For most of his spells are mid-range and with Atalanta he can take the targets down fast, this also lets him aid any of his comrades quickly if the need arise. Just because he enjoys fighting a mid-range does mean he can’t fight CQC. This can be a nasty surprise to his enemies whom thinks he’s just a regular archer…

His mana capabilities is above average in raw power alone, however Eiros makes up for this with his level of control and his large library of spells. He can shoot of speeds so fast that, it seems like he’s casting one spell, but in fact he already casted four. Thus, Eiros can be really useful in clearing out buildings and other urban environments and/or destroying enemies’ base.

When he fuses with his ace in the hole, the Azure Grimoire, Eiros physical abilities are increase tenfold. He is granted access into the boundary and release seithr down upon his foes. However, do to the stress inflicted upon his body he can only activate it for four minutes.

Rare Skill: Azure Grimoire
The results of years of research that finally proved fruit one year before Strikers, the Azure Grimoire is the perfect fusion of Mid-Childa magic and a mysterious substance known as Seithr. The Grimoire converts Seithr into a black mana that is deadly to any being that is alive. Like stated before, it increase the user physical ability tenfold. The Grimoire when it is not being used is store in a red pocket watch, which only Eiros can open it.

Rare Skill: Basic Thaumaturgy
Though the study of Thaumaturgy (Wonder Making) Eiros has learned how to use od and prana to fight his foes, his grasp of this magic art is very basic. He only can cast four spells, but hey we all have to start somewhere. Eiros only uses these spells when he has no choice. The spells that he has learned so far are: Graduation Air, Reinforcement, Gandr and Fin shot.

Spells: Not all of them mind you…Eiros does not like showing all his spells to an unknown foe. Note: (A) =Atalanta, (P) = Pyrus and (M) =Murakumo

Offensive Spells:

Paladin Ballista (A): A light magic attack that summons a spiral spear of light. Which is fired from Atalanta at the target, if it miss that’s okay. For as long as Eiros keeps Atalanta on the target, the spell will follow it.

Celestial Cannon (A): A huge bolt of light is shot froth from Atalanta, which can spilt into a “grape shot” over an area, it is very deadly to bunch up targets.

Unforgiving Confession (A): Eiros stranded blast attack, when it is fired from Atalanta the beam splits into two beams of light which is guided into the target.

Infinite Archer (A): An arrow of light is shot into the sky by Atalanta. Which then lets Eiros control the mana in the air to summon an unlimited amount of light arrows at the target, the only way to stop this spell is to deactivate Atalanta or destroy the controller arrow. Note each arrow created from this spell is very weak by themselves, thus Eiros needs a storm of these arrows to wipe out a high level target.

Sacred Impact (P): Pyrus emit a lance of magic around itself to impale a target. This spell is used to destroy barrier jackets and soft targets.

Blissful Driller (P): Pyrus forms a drill of light magic around itself. This spell is used to destroy defensive spells and eliminate any target permanently
Wraith Strike (P): A magic energy dagger is shot from Pyrus into an incoming enemy.

Avenging Winds (M): Light arcs are swung from Murakumo and slice though anything that is not protected by magic.

Guardian Resolve (M): Murakumo glow heavenly with mana and becomes an ant-magic weapon.

Martyr Symphony: Up to twelve pyramids of magic form around Eiros and is shot at a target. Eiros basic non-device spell, also this is a point and shoot spell.

Defensive Spells:

Sanctuary Restoration: Blocks all magical or physical attacks coming from one direction with a Mid-Childa symbol.

Sanctuary Devotion: Forms a pyramid shield around everything in Eiros’s vision. But cannot protect against attacks from below or behind, however it can turn with the caster.

Joyful Barrier: Light magic is used by Eiros to form a barrier around him. Slightly stronger than your basic barrier spell and faster to cast, sadly barrier burst cannot be used with this spell.

Other Spells:

Templar’s Edict: Allows Eiros to soar into the air and take the fight his enemies.

Resolver Blessing: A basic healing spell, it can patch up small wounds or flesh wounds.

[Request] Signature art.

LOLIKNOW's picture

Hello, everyone.

I have a formal request I would like to impose on anyone who's artistic or just likes to be creative. I am not too sure how time consuming something like this is, but I'd like to humbly ask anyone, who would be interested, if they'd like to make a signature bar/wallpaper/art for me.

I can't offer much in compensation besides 10000+ "Thank you's" and my undying good will towards you :]

If anyone is interested, feel free to catch me in chat or reply to this thread. We can discuss the details then.

Honestly, I would just make one myself because it looks like fun, but I lack the necessary programs and what not (I think? It may be simpler than I am giving it credit for).

Anyway, Thanks. I'm hoping someone gives me the honor of replying or considering my semi-selfish request :D

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS

Sansker's picture

Ok, I’m done; I need to get these out of my chest. Like my very first comment on this page I should commence complaining like a bitch about the things I hate of a Magical Girl anime with space ships, cyborgs and clones… God I’m such a nerd. Well, here I go. The things I hate the most about StrikerS:

1 – Too many characters I believe these is one of the most difficult things to take from StrikerS. I mean here we have a ton of new characters, aside from Fate, Nanoha and all the others form A´s and the first season we have to deal with the rookies, the pilots, the nuns, the military, the “villains” and a lot more that I just don´t care. Have to say… WTF? In the first two seasons I always feel that some characters may be have no propose but even then were supporting characters, in StrikerS I still have no idea who is suppose to be the protagonists and who are the extras. There is a lot of characters and we spend time with so many of them that I just can´t follow. Many of these people have little to no impact in the history and were put just to show they were there. Take for example: Yunno, the brains of the TSAB, Agito, Regius, Vice, half of the Numbers, Shari, Lucino, the other half of the Numbers, and so on. There are a lot of these guys and many of them are new, so we have no reason to care about them and the history is no helping with that. At all. If you want to be supporting cast the stay out until you are needed.

2 – The Forwards (A.K.A Subaru, Teana, Erio and Caro) Ok, I know that these characters have their fans and everything but I will make just one question: Why? Really, why? If StrikerS was suppose to be a sequel from A´s then why we need, want, ask or have new protagonists? What about these guys is better than Nanoha and Fate? Subaru is a little of Nanoha, energetic, optimistic and with that “joie de vivre” but when Nanoha was charm and cute Subaru is just annoying and stupid; hell Nanoha as 9 years old was a lot more mature that Subaru as 15 years old. Teana is Fate but without all the blonde´s interesting qualities, when Fate was mysterious, elegant and dark Teana is just ridiculous. As for Erio and Caro… just shotacon and lolicon, because everyone else was now 15 o 20 years old we need some children to keep the “Magical Girl” title. Seriously these two guys were pointless, boring and cliché, even more than Teana and Subaru. These 4 characters lack the charm of Nanoha and Fate, but still take over the show like if somebody like them, even before we know them. So… yes, they piss me off

3 – The good ideas. I have to be just; there were some interesting ideas here and there among StrikerS. I mean the thing about Jail being not just the man who started Project Fate but also that he knows about Precia and want to take control over Fate was a very clever idea, the way they putted was not. Just remember Jail, he want Erio, Subaru, Ginga, Lutecia, Fate and everyone to go with him for… no good reasons. Really the soul proposes for all that “I want this power” was just to be an excuse for the members of Section Six fight. Other good idea throw aside was Vivio. This cute little girl who comes to the series when the producers realized that Reinforce II was more annoying than moe so they need other cute little thing to make us go “awww” and Vivio was the answer. As I said, was a good idea. I mean that child it had everything to make the series good. She had relation to the main plot, she had Nanoha (and Fate) take care of her and we could have interesting moments and character development form Nanoha-mama and Fate-mama, but what do we get? Absolutely nothing. Yes, a few good scenes here and there but were kind of just show the relationship already established rather that establish the relationship, did you get what I mean? Vivio kind of like Nanoha just because she had a ponytail, Nanoha show little to no doubts about being her mother (Even the idea from Vivio call her “Nanoha-mama” came from Nanoha herself) but in the final battle we finally know about all the development we lost. Again wasn’t the best way to put these ideas. And for the rest is just that with all the individuals’ histories taking place at the same time they don’t fit each other very well, more kind of push each other trying to reclaim our attention.

4 – The training sequences. Do I need to say more? Even in the final battle, after all that training to make them fight as a group they just split and go fight on their own… too much for team work, huh? Jesus! All that makes these series unnecessary slow. Was a lot of bullshit. By the way I think it had been better if the flashbacks in the final battle were about the training and the time we waste in the training were used to development. That way it would have made more sense.

5 – The villains. Here is when I lost faith in StrikerS. Jail and his sexy but incompetent army of cyborgs… What was the point? Jail is just a cliché villain that makes ALL the mistakes possible and kind of rejects easy ways to win. I mean he has a lot of resources and an army of powerful cyborgs but never uses to the full potential. If this guy weren’t so stupid if will be hard to make it easier for Nanoha and company to defeat him. For a person who has supposed to be the master of science and lost technology is just a cartoon villain. Even Marvin the Martian and Wile E. Coyote will be a lot more of a threat to Section Six, at less they know what they want. What was Jail plan? They speak about “the doctor´s dream” but never explained, also is just me or Jail is kind of a pervert? He has an army of beautiful teenagers in thigh costumes and has a lot of women nude in tubes… I´m just saying. By the way the Numbers are even worse. How the hell are we suppose to take them seriously? Sein, Dieci, Otto… they are a bunch of idiots, and the others have the exact same personality, the personality of toilet paper. By the way the fact that all of them were pregnant with Jail´s baby was a lot of creepy.

6 – Lutecia, Zest and Agito. Ok, first Zest… is just so stupid, I can´t take him seriously. Let me see, he was a friend of Regius and the boss of Subaru´s and Lutecia´s mothers, Regius order him to back off the investigation they had but the imbecile here decide to go and get himself and all his subordinates kill. So after that brilliant plant he make other one: He remains with Jail in order to hunt down Regius but instead of going after him Zest help Lutecia to collect the Relics for Jail, and spend years in that. So finally he remembers his original goal in the final battle and go to confront his former commander to ask him if he sacrifice his friend´s unit (Despite the fact that Regius tell him no to go, so actually the only one to blame is Zest. Who disobeyed his orders; go in a risky operation without backups and get all his men kill) anyway, crazy Zest here don´t get an answer because Due enter and kill Regius, so Zest kill Due and is ready to make things right by capturing Jail and helping Lutecia, but Signum tell him that meanwhile he was busy being an asshole they manage to secure both Jail and Lutecia so all the thing he made were just stupid. Then Zest for no very good reasons confronts Signum in a final duel and get himself kill (About time if you ask me) and Signum says that he die with his honor as a knight and she will make sure to clean his name bye no telling anyone the kind of idiot Zest was. Really, make absolute no sense. He wasn’t mental control or something like that so why he works for Jail? If he just wants to help Lutecia made a terrible job, keep in secret that was actually Jail´s fault that her mother were in coma. Agito is just there, and her cloths look like a cospaly, a bad cosplay. Lutecia was nice but mostly because she do not speak that much. And as I said in the ViVid/Force treat I hate what they did to her.

Well to be fair with StrikerS wasn’t all that bad… have a few good moments here and there. Sometimes the show truly knows how to go amazing but never get too much of it. The concept of a magical war anime is not new, but here is why you should thing before you act. The Nanoha franchise is NOT that good when you look the story. The best part of the show is the characters. The designs of both Nanoha and Fate (Also the rest of the cast, but mostly those two) are nice, cute and a blessing for the eye. Then these designs combine with strong well settle characters and we have what make this series good: the NanoFate.

And then the questions to you people: Did you like StrikerS? Did you hate it? Why?

[Crowdsourcing] Nanoha tribute in Ore no Imouto

PrimeSonic's picture

I can't believe no one has done this before.

For those of you unfamiliar with Ore no Imouto, what you're seeing to the left is a screenshot from episode 15 of Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga nai (My Little Sister Can't be This Cute).

Stardust Witch Meruru is a magical girl anime that Kirino (the protagonist of Ore no Imouto) is obsessed with.

In the series, there is a scene where one of her friends cosplays as Meruru and sings the theme song. The voice actress for the song and character is none other than our beloved Yukari Tamura.

So, this looks primed for a demotivator. All that's need is a worthy caption to go with it.

Attached is the image in higher quality.
