A new anime was announced today titled Vivid Strike! for fall 2016, with many new characters and what seems to be a new main heroine. It's to be noted that "Nanoha" is not part of the title of this series, and Nanoha and Fate are not in the list of characters, 4 new characters and Vivio, Einhart, Corona, Rio and Nove are in this list. It's not known yet if this is a continuation to the still ongoing Vivid manga, a parallel story, or something completely different

At the very least they have the decency to stop titling it with ''Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha'' at last.

But this is -not- the crap we need, if Vivid was such a failure, it should be a sign to stop, not continue anyway.

I think the Vivid manga is doing fine in Japan, the anime wasn't too good though, but at least it was kind of fun to watch. In any case I wouldn't call Vivid a failure, maybe the anime, but we don't know anything about Vivid Strike! yet, from the little we have seen I think it's more likely to be something more like a spin off centered around new characters and some old recurrent ones, but it may be a different kind of story of what we are used to. It may turn out to be something good, but I personally don't really have expectation for this.

Another Anime but still no word about the 3rd movie? I think I just lost all hope for the 3rd movie. Either it was a hoax or they cancelled it and are trying to move it under the rug. *sigh*

Maybe they'll be going further down the Nanoha timeline where instead of adult forms, Vivio and Einhart are actually adults? I can't really tell, that character looks like a fusion of Einhart and Nanoha.
But thankfully we'll find out soon enough, Fall 2016? I can wait that long :P

Wait, they are making something related to the Nanoha universe but focus on someone else? How is that different from Strikers, Sound Stage X, Force and ViVid?

At least they remove Nanoha from the title but in order for this to work you would need to have good and well stablish characterts... which Rio, Corona, Einhard and Vivio are not. But they seem to be dropping Sieg and the others so that is a plus.

I was right in not having hope in a story centered on Nanoha, if the third movie comes out probably will not be focused on her, Nanoha franchise was one of my favorites and now ....

i get the feeling that this will be like Vivio A's and the 4 New Characters will be like Hayate and her Knights. to think that just yeserday i saw a manga page of ViVid of Ix "waking up" (if that does count as waking up) and thinking that she was going to fill the Hayate Spot in Vivio's Generation

though for all we know this could be a filler arc because the ViVid manga is still-ongoing and there isn't enough material to make another canon season of the anime

To be honest I'm really scared about this new series an where the franchise is going. After what happened with Yukari Tamura (Nanoha's VA and singer for the endings) might be a reason for the disappearance of Nanoha and not including Fate, because they didn't want to put one without the other. I am curious about the girl in the pic and if she's is related to Nanoha in anyway. I also wonder if the supposed 3rd movie is being buried.

I'm not sure what -is- going on with Yukari, but if she put down the mantle of Nanoha, then I'm not sure I want to see Nanoha again, to me Yukari's voice work is a big part of what makes Nanoha as a character awesome.

It's not an official announcement as far as I know, it may be a mistake with the wrong date making reference to Vivid Strike!, or it may be real information that got leaked before they made the real announcement, but I think a continuation of the first anime is not too likely because they never released the DVDs and BDs of Vivid S1.

Well i hope someone will clarify it soon, it's not good to wait for something that will never come like the suppossed nanoha 3rd movie.

I wonder who this is made for, is my question. The image doesn't seem to answer anything at all.

Is it made for people who like ViviD?
Is it made for people who want more SoL? More tournaments? More action?

Most importantly:

Are we in for another massive timeskip? Or maybe something as disappointing as:

I have the feeling they want to shift the focus from Nanoha, Fate, and the other characters from the StrikerS generation and bellow, so if they want to do that I can see they just ignoring the adults instead of making a plot point about them disappearing that they would have to address later. But who knows.

I would like to think this is the case, but with King Records controlling 7arcs, it's hard to know for sure.

Am I a bad person if I think this scenario is sadder than the other one?

Of course not, it means you and I both are attached to the characters.

Especially if it means poor Feito has to continue on alone.

I've started to not care any more. Nanoha had been written off as history. TBH, I've started to pity this franchise. Even more so after this announcement. I may just be ranting, but let me, as a fan, please T^T
(Some may argue), but Strikers had my praise still. And even though Force was... well, Force, dare I say that it has its thing going with the setting of militaristic scifi Mahou Shoujou-esque that is the franchise's charm itself. Seeing Vivid, however felt like where it slipped off on a tangent. Not that I disliked it (or the manga, at least). And now, Vivid Strike.
I'm so heart-broken.
*sigh* I at least wish them to continue Vivid, lest I completely try to erase this ever happening in memory.
If the movie is still within the reach of hope, I wish that the staff will FINALLY revert this barren franchise.

Don't hold your breath, it seems they are dead set on burying everything that made this franchise what it is.

I wouldn't be surprised if the name ''Nanoha'' has become somewhat of a profanity to the authors.

I maintain a simple stance, one I have always adhered to with Vivid and Force also, if Nanoha is not the main character, I am not watching or reading it.

While I am attached to Nanoha, I am perfectly fine with them trying new things. I liked Dog Days, after all.

But at the same time; I have less and less hope as Strike gets closer and the entire thing is treated as a secret.

I don't think 7arcs has the disdain for Nanoha that you suggest. I even think that most of the staff would love to do more Nanoha storylines; she's in all the promotional material. I just think their management has blown a gasket and is bowing to King Records' will.

To me that sounds more like the age old ''blame the financial overlords'' thing, no I think it's 7arcs fucking up.

What you're suggesting is to me as silly as gamers blaming EA when a company owned by EA fucks up a game, like Bioware or DICE.

Respecting EA... no, they are always to be blame because they are the devil incarnate in corporation form.

Being serious now: the stories are not exactly Shakespeare on the Nanoha franchise ever since StrikerS. They lack focus, consistency or even a clear main character. They go with whatevers and while I do not blame anyone for enjoying Dog Days I do think they should not try to do the same thing in Nanoha. ViVid tried and it was boring, which to me is the worse crime.

The two new main girls and some old faces show up. The first episode comes out October first.

Welp, it seems they really do insist on continuously sticking to the worst of this franchise, well, at least they are consistently bad.

At least they finally had the guts to scrap the Nanoha name from it, as it really has -nothing- to do with the series we know from TOS/A's and even StrikerS.

Would it seem odd for me to say that I am at least curious about this?

Don't get me wrong, it looks like crap for a Nanoha series but these seems the first time they are actually putting any meat inside the whole "I want to become stronger" shit everyone has. I mean Ein, Vivio and the rest want to become stronger because it sound like a neat idea but this new girl looks like does have something to prove.

I just take what I can grab and compare to the original ViVid... well, that is not putting a high bar exactly. I just wonder how Vivio and Einhart fit in all this because I can only asume it would be quite silly. Is not the first time I think something has potential and they crush it.

They are there to form some arbitrary connection to what people already know, I would have actually responded more positively to that pilot video if it hadn't had Vivio and Einhart in it.

It's so annoying when they only drag in big shots like Nanoha and Fate for some meaningless cameo just because it'll be the only reason half the audience even gives a flying fuck about trying to watch it, like.. well, anything that doesn't have Nanoha in a main-character and meaningful role.
