This is called "Augmented Reality", through a software you can superpose 3D elements to a picture or video taking a given pattern (the black thing) to use it as an anchor for positioning your 3D stuff.

I made a quick search and it seems that this ARToolKit is a Augmented Reality library for other software, so you should probably search for another program if you want to do things similar to what you see in the videos.
