I just realized that you can make out their backsides in the "reflection" behind them...
the conveinent swallowtail in Fate's cape which will still show her bottom when she flies...
I don't mean to sound like a lolicon, but Fate's bottom is a nice view. Very gifted for an 8 or 9yr old. *_*
You know, everyone calls Fate 9, including the 7 Arcs staff, but when you do the math she is closer to 10, probably over 10 by the time of A's.
Alicia was 8 (I think thats right) when she died. Precia aged Fate to that age in the tank. When she took Fate out of the tank there is a unknown length of time they were togeather before Precia abandoned her and turned her over to Lilith. Lilith had 18 months to train Fate. Then there was an unknown amount of time when Preicia was hunting jewels before tracking them to Earth and releasing Fate to get them.
Fate would be at least 9 1/2 when they met and maybe older, and Nanoha's birthday is in the spring so she had only JUST turned 9 right before the start of the school year (supposedly March 15 has been chosen as her birthday). So by Christmas Fate would be easily 10 and Nanoha only 9 1/2.
Since these are also the years when puberty starts in girls, 6 months can really be a big difference in body development, much more so than mental or psychological development...
Well what matters is how old Alicia was when she died. I can't imagine she was 8, because that's roughly Nanoha's age, and Alicia looks a few years younger. So I was thinking Alicia was around 6 when she died, which would place Fate at around 8 or 9 yrs old.
If you know of some content that specifically gives Alicia's age, that's the only way to know Fate's true age. I wish they would give Fate a birth date already, fml.
Actually Alicia was 5 when she dies. Then Precia spend 22 years studding cloning technology until she was able to make and activate Fate, 4 years before the Jewel Seeds Incident. Linith was created the same year that Fate was activated and stays with her for three years. Then the two first season of the anime take place in the same year, so is very likable that they stay the same age. But we have to remember that Fate is an artificial mage so she may be don´t grow up like her friends.

Not many 8 year olds do, but at least the 8 year olds can reach the cupboards and physically remove the items...
The younger Fate is when she comes out of the jar, the easier it is for Linith to train her true.
But Linith had only a 1 year and 7 month life span. According to the Movie 1st Manga.
Put those togeather and we get a girl who cannot be much more than 8 or much less than 7.
I talking about the anime, and in the anime with all the sound stages and etc. those are the ages and time they give to us. Also Alicia is just too small to be 8, and if you are wonder how she make the dinner for Precia well… they are mage, so is not impossible. The movie and the movie manga change some things like Linith making Bardiche when Fate was so little, she did make the device but just a year after the Incident. The dinner thing that you mentioned is just minor a detail and you have to know that the movie manga and the movie are two different histories without relationship so the time Linith spend with Fate is different in both cases. Not to mention that Fate spend years of training before going out of her own to find the Jewel Seeds, otherwise I don´t see how she was so strong comparing with Nanoha when you consider that Linith will never put her to some training of hell or something like that.
Fate probably trained for a year or two, but comparing a complete amateur (Nanoha) to anyone with even a little training...the end result will be obvious. Just think of how much Nanoha learned over so little time. It took her like a few weeks to learn her *I win* card Starlight Breaker. And by A's timeline which is 6months later, she was pretty much maxed out in terms of strength. Until maybe StrikerS timeline, but StrikerS did a bad job at showing it.
I've seen so many people compare A's movie BJ Fate to tron in such a short span of time. ;-;
