That line you're not sure about, "今日もがんばって早く帰えくるからね" says, "Try your best to return home early today". "ぷは"(puha) means to take a deep breath after holding your breath for a long time, usually resurfacing from underwater. In this case, she's resurfacing from the pitch blackness.
